Halikounas beach is located in the southwestern part of Corfu and is the largest beach on the island. It is a strip of sand between the Ionian Sea and Lake Korissia. It is ideal for water sports due to the waves it has while due to the lagoon of Korissia it is a NATURA 2000 protected area.
